We at Coast Allied Health provide occupational therapy services to children in a fun, safe, and nurturing way. Our clinic has state of the art equipment to create individualized, custom therapy to meet a child where he or she may be when beginning their OT journey. We also place emphasis on parent education and home programming. The therapeutic process begins in the controlled environment of our clinic but carryover of strategies to support the established plan of care in the natural environment is essential for progress.

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.

Mollie C. Bivens, MOT,OTR/L

Mollie is an occupational therapist and the practice owner of Coast Allied Health. She has over 25 years of pediatric experience working with children and families providing direct and consultative care. Mollie believes in a team centered approach to therapy, viewing each child, caregiver, teacher, allied health professional, and other team member as key players in the therapeutic process. Mollie continues to enjoy providing assessments and interventions to families. More recently and as her practice has grown, Mollie has shifted much of her attention to program development and creating a therapeutic and meaningful environment for her staff and the children and families served by Coast Allied Health.

Mollie transplanted from New York to California over 18 years ago.  She received her Master's degree in Occupational Therapy and worked in a pediatric clinic for the first 5 years of her career on the East Coast.  Mollie traveled to Southern California where she received advanced training in sensory integration from experts in the field.  Mollie gained her Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT) certification, was promoted to supervisor and supported the occupational therapy internship program as acting liaison, bridging the gap between student and entry-level occupational therapist.

In addition to working with clients directly, Mollie has coordinated and sponsored opportunities for professional development to clinicians in the health-related fields on a local and national level. She has also coordinated caregiver trainings locally, often collaborating with community partners.

Mollie lives on the beautiful Central Coast of California with her wonderful husband, a native to San Luis Obispo, and their amazing son.  They enjoy staying active, traveling, and cooking with family and friends.

Mollie feels fortunate and thankful to have the opportunity to create a much needed offering in her community and to work with dedicated occupational therapists who call Coast Allied Health home.
